How to Make a Huge Banner
Project:
You can make a banner any size you like, but for this tutorial, we will assume that you want to
make a banner that is about seven or eight feet long that says:
Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!!
How to do it:
First, load the PhotoELF Editor.
Second, look in the Fun Stuff menu and select: Create New Image (Blank)
Third, create a blank image that is about 2000 pixels wide by 200 pixels high. Choose a white background.
Now, click the ABC button on top of the Editor's tool panel:
Add text to the blank image that says: Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!!
For more information about adding text to a photo, see: Text and Shapes
At this point, you should have an image that looks something like this:
Now, we need to Slice the photo up into individual pieces and print them out on regular 8.5 x 11 inch paper. Once all the
pieces are printed, it is just a matter of taping all the pieces together.
To do this, we will use another feature in the PhotoELF Editor called: Make a Poster - Slice and Dice a Photo.
This proceedure is better explained in the Poster topic: Make a Poster - Slice and Dice
To do this, look in the Editor's Fun Stuff menu and select: Make a Poster - Slice and Dice a Photo
You will now see a window that looks like this:
Choose 1 Row (see above)
And choose 8 Columns
Click the Save Slices Now button, (which is not shown in the picture above).
Once the banner image has been sliced, you can then choose to print the slices.
Each slice will be printed on one 8.5 x 11 inch sheet of paper. When printing is done, just assemble all the pieces and tape
them together for a huge banner that everyone will love.
Variations on the above procedure will produce any type of large poster or banner project you can imagine.
